You want to get all the furniture you will need:

Along with the crib and the dresser, you will also want to have a changing table, so you can keep their diapering items all in one convenient place and will have a safe place to change your baby without bending over and straining your back to change their diaper. You should also have a comfortable rocking chair in the nursery. This way, you can have a quiet place to rock them to sleep and then walk only a few steps to place them gently in their crib for their nap.
You should have thick curtains in the nursery:
While there will be curtain ties, you want to nursery nice and bright; there will also be many times where you want to be able to cut the light out during the daytime, so you can prolong your baby's nap and make sure they are getting a nice and sound sleep. You want to stock up on baby toys:
You will want to decorate the baby's nursery with a lot of cute items.
